Passport Application Is Under Review At Regional Passport Office
Over the past few years, there has been an increase in the number of people traveling to different parts of the world. Many of these travelers are looking forward to experiencing new cultures and learning more about the local customs. However, some travelers may not be aware of a recent change that has affected the passport application process. Starting on October 1st, 2018, the regional passport office will be under review. This means that applicants will need to visit a central location in order to apply for their passport. The good news is that this change does not affect applicants who travel within Canada or the United States. If you are traveling abroad or have planned a trip in the near future, it is important to check with your regional passport office to find out if they are part of the review process. In some cases, this may mean increased wait times and longer application processing times.
What to do if your passport application is being processed at a regional passport office
If you are having your passport application processed at a regional passport office, be aware that your application may be under review. This means that the passport office is considering whether to grant or deny your request for a passport. If you have not received a decision from the regional passport office within six months of submitting your application, you should contact the embassy or consulate of the country where you reside to inquire about the status of your application.
What to do if you have not received your passport in the mail
If you have not received your passport in the mail after applying, there are a few things that you can do to try and get it. First, check to see if your application was sent to the wrong address. If it wasn’t, then you can contact the regional passport office where your application was processed to see if they can track down your passport. If all of those efforts fail, you can contact the Passport Agency directly at 1-800-USA-PASS (1-800-872-7277) and explain what happened.
How to process a passport application if you are a resident of a regional passport office
If you are a resident of a regional passport office, you will need to follow the specific processing instructions for your regional passport office. If you are applying from outside of your regional passport office, please see our guide on how to apply for a U.S. passport.
The steps for applying for a passport from within your regional passport office are:
1) Fill out the application form. Make sure to include the appropriate fees andsubmit it with your supporting documents.
2) Take your completed application form and all of your supporting documents to either the Passport Services Counter or to an appointment at the Office of Biometric Identification (OBI), depending on which location is closer to you.
3) Have your fingerprints taken by an authorized officer at one of our fingerprinting stations. You can find more information about how to get fingerprinted here.
4) Bring your completed application form, all of your supporting documents, and your fingerprints back to the Passport Services Counter or OBI appointment. You will needto show proof of identification such as a driver’s license, national ID card, or other official photo identification document when you bring inyour application materials. If you’re applying for a minor child under 18 years old, you’ll also needproof that the child’s parent or legal guardian is also applying for the child’s passport and has registered their written consent with us in advance. Thisconsent must be submitted withthe application form along with proof of parentage.
5) If you are applying for a passport using the Internet, you will need to prepare and submit a passport application package. You can find more information about how to prepare and submit a passport application package here.
How to contact the regional passport office
If you are having problems with your passport application, you may want to contact the regional passport office. The regional passport office will be able to help you with your application. You can find the regional passport office by looking at the list of Passport Service Offices provided by the United States Department of State.
You can also call the toll free number for the United States Department of State, which is 1-888-487-2778. You can also visit their website at http://travel.state.gov/.
How to get more information about the passport application process
If you’re interested in obtaining a passport, the first step is to establish whether or not your desired passport type is available. The Regional Passport Office website offers an online passport application form, which will provide you with information about the steps involved in applying for your desired passport type. You’ll also need to submit various documents, including: a birth certificate
a valid driver’s license or state ID
your current U.S. immigration documents (i.e., green card, visa, etc.)
two recent photos
Once you’ve completed the online application form, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at your regional passport office. During your appointment, you’ll be required to provide additional documentation and photographs, as well as answer questions about your travel plans and background. After completing the appointment process and fulfilling all other requirements of the application process, you can expect to receive your new passport within four weeks.
