7 RULES OF LIFE: What are your top 7 rules of life?
Question
Life is a journey, and the only way that we can truly grow as people is by learning from our experiences. However, there are some universal rules of life that help us to understand how to navigate through this world and what it means to be human. These seven rules will forever change your perspectives on life:
Life is short.
- Make the most of every day. Don’t take anything for granted, but don’t waste time being angry or sad either. Life is too short to hold grudges and be afraid to try new things!
Respect others, but don’t expect it back.
If you respect other people and their opinions, they will do the same for you. This is a great way to live your life. You can stand up for yourself without feeling threatened or attacked by others because you have already shown them that they are important in your life and that their views matter to you. Respect allows us all to feel safe in our own company and with those who surround us daily!
Smile even when you don’t feel like it.
You can be at your worst, feeling terrible about yourself and just generally down. But no matter what, you have to smile. I’m not talking about a fake pose; I mean a real smile that comes from inside of you–the kind that makes your eyes crinkle up and your cheeks go rosy red. It might sound silly or even impossible but trust me when I say that it’s worth it! Your body will actually start to feel better when you smile more often; even if those smiles aren’t genuine at first (and they won’t always be), they’ll get easier over time as the habit becomes second nature.
Smiles aren’t only good for making people around us feel happy–they also help us feel better too! When we’re laughing or smiling our bodies release endorphins which are chemicals responsible for making us feel good while decreasing stress levels throughout our bodies as well as lowering blood pressure levels overall too! So go ahead: crack up with laughter every chance possible–then give yourself permission to do so again next week 🙂
Always be kind to yourself first.
It’s easy to be kind to others, but sometimes we forget about ourselves. We can’t be happy with others if we’re not happy with ourselves.
- Be kind to yourself first!
You have to learn how to take care of yourself before you can be able to do it for anyone else in your life or even for yourself. If someone else is doing something for you and it makes them happy, then that’s great! But if they don’t have their own needs met first, then they might lose interest in helping out other people because they need something from them that isn’t being met (like attention).
Don’t let people hurt you and don’t hurt them either.
The second rule of life is, don’t let people hurt you and don’t hurt them either.
There are two ways to approach this. The first is to be kind and respectful of others, even when they aren’t being kind or respectful in return to you. The second way is by not letting anyone get away with being mean or disrespectful towards you–if someone hurts your feelings or makes fun of something about yourself that makes them uncomfortable (like the fact that they think you’re too short), then there’s no reason why they should be able to get away with it just because they’re bigger than you!
In addition, if someone has done something harmful towards us in the past (whether intentionally or unintentionally), then we must forgive them so that we can move on with our lives without carrying around all these negative emotions inside ourselves every time we think back upon those events happening again and again until finally one day everything becomes too much pressure causing us burnout from stress which leads nowhere good except maybe death…and even then there’s still no guarantee–so really what I’m saying here is: Don’t let people hurt each other either physically/verbally/emotionally etcetera ad nauseum ad infinitum forever without end amen amen amen amen am I right?
Never compare yourself to others. There will always be someone out there who is smarter or prettier. And that’s okay! Just be content with who you are and what you have in your life right now!
- Don’t stress about things you can’t control, like the weather or traffic jams on the highway. It’s not worth it!
- Don’t worry about what other people think of you, because chances are they’re too busy worrying about themselves anyway! Your feelings matter more than theirs do (and if they don’t agree with this statement…well then maybe it’s time for them to get some new friends).
- Be happy with who you are right now–you don’t need any other person telling their story as if theirs is better than yours just because they were able to accomplish something “greater” than yours was/is/will ever be…it doesn’t mean anything at all except maybe how hard-working they were at whatever task was given them before moving onto something else entirely different afterwards while still maintaining their own personal integrity throughout each stage along their journey towards success rather than letting others dictate where exactly success lies within any given situation.”
Be thankful for everything that comes into your life — not just the good things, but also the difficult moments because they make us who we are today!
- Don’t take things for granted.
- Don’t compare yourself to others.
- Don’t judge people based on what they have or don’t have; instead, focus on their character and personality traits instead of material possessions (which can change).
- Don’t be afraid to fail; it’s better than never trying at all! And remember: every failure is an opportunity for growth so long as you learn from it and move forward towards success instead of letting your mistakes define who you are as a person…and remember: You’re only young once so enjoy every second while it lasts 🙂
I hope that these rules will help you live a happier and more fulfilling life!

Life is full of ups and downs, twists and turns, successes and failures. It’s a journey that we all embark on with no clear destination in mind. But amidst the chaos, there are certain rules that can guide us towards a fulfilling and meaningful life. In this blog post, we’ll explore 7 rules of life that have the potential to change your perspective and transform your experiences. So sit back, relax, and get ready to discover how you can live your best life yet!
Rule #1: Don’t take yourself too seriously
Life can be tough, and it’s easy to get bogged down by the weight of our responsibilities and expectations. But taking ourselves too seriously only adds to that burden. When we take everything personally, we become overly sensitive to criticism or rejection, which can lead to anxiety and stress.
Instead of taking yourself too seriously, try approaching life with a sense of humor. Laughter is a powerful tool that can help us cope with difficult situations and lighten our mood when things get heavy. Learn to laugh at your mistakes and imperfections – they’re what make you human after all!
Taking yourself less seriously also means being more open-minded about new experiences and perspectives. When we let go of our preconceived notions about how things should be, we create space for growth and learning.
By not taking yourself too seriously, you also give others permission to do the same. It creates an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment or ridicule.
Don’t underestimate the power of not taking yourself too seriously! Life is meant to be enjoyed so embrace every moment with lightheartedness and laughter!
Rule #2: Be kind to others
Being kind to others is one of the most important rules of life. It’s easy to forget how much a small act of kindness can make someone’s day. Whether it’s holding the door open for someone, smiling at a stranger, or simply saying “thank you”, these little gestures can go a long way.
Kindness is not just about being nice; it’s about understanding and respecting others. We are all different and have our own struggles and challenges in life. By showing compassion and empathy towards others, we create a more positive environment for everyone around us.
It’s also essential to remember that kindness should be unconditional. We should strive to be kind even when we don’t receive anything in return. Being kind isn’t something that should only happen on special occasions or holidays; it should be part of our everyday lives.
Moreover, we need to teach our children the value of kindness from an early age so they grow up with this same attitude towards others throughout their lives.
Being kind doesn’t cost anything but has endless benefits for both ourselves and those around us. Let’s make an effort every day to spread positivity through acts of kindness – no matter how big or small they may seem!
Rule #3: Live in the present moment
Living in the present moment is one of the most valuable rules to follow in life. The ability to be fully engaged and aware of your surroundings, thoughts, and emotions can bring a sense of peace and contentment that cannot be found dwelling on past regrets or anxieties about the future.
It’s easy to get caught up in our busy lives, always thinking about what we need to do next or worrying about things that have already happened. However, taking a step back from these distractions and focusing on what’s happening right now can help us appreciate life more deeply.
Being present requires us to let go of judgment and preconceived notions. When we stop labeling experiences as “good” or “bad,” we allow ourselves to fully experience every moment without bias.
Practicing mindfulness techniques like meditation or deep breathing exercises can also help cultivate this mindset. By learning how to quiet our minds and focus solely on the present moment, we become more attuned with ourselves and those around us.
Ultimately, living in the present moment allows us to live each day more fully without being weighed down by regret or anxiety for what has already passed or what may come later.
Rule #4: Follow your heart
Following your heart is one of the most important rules in life. It means listening to your intuition and doing what feels right for you, even if it goes against conventional wisdom or societal norms. When you follow your heart, you are living authentically and true to yourself.
One of the biggest challenges with following your heart is overcoming fear. Fear can hold us back from taking risks and pursuing our passions. But when we let go of fear and trust ourselves, amazing things happen.
Another aspect of following your heart is being open to change. Sometimes this means letting go of old beliefs or habits that no longer serve us. Change can be scary, but it’s necessary for growth and personal development.
It’s also important to remember that following your heart doesn’t always lead to easy or comfortable choices. Sometimes it requires sacrifice or hard work, but ultimately it leads to a fulfilling life.
Following your heart is about trusting yourself above all else. It may not always be the easiest path, but it will lead you down a road towards happiness and fulfillment in life
Rule #5: Do your best and let go of the rest
Rule #5: Do your best and let go of the rest. This rule is about giving your best effort to achieve a goal or complete a task, but also accepting that not everything will always work out as planned. It’s important to realize that sometimes things are simply beyond our control, and it’s better to focus on what we can do rather than stressing over what we cannot.
When you give your best effort, you should feel proud regardless of the outcome. You did everything within your power to succeed, which is something worth celebrating in itself. It takes courage and determination to pursue goals even when there may be setbacks along the way.
At times, it can be challenging to accept failure or disappointment despite putting forth one’s greatest efforts. In such situations remember that every setback offers an opportunity for growth and learning from mistakes made.
It’s equally essential to know when it’s time to let go; holding onto negative outcomes hinders personal growth and progress towards future successes. Sometimes letting go means finding a new approach or accepting a different outcome – all of which require courage amidst uncertainty.
Doing your best requires dedication while understanding life may have unexpected twists and turns. So try hard but don’t forget that there’s value in taking step back if necessary – whether it means reflecting on ways how you could improve upon yourself so next time around success comes easier!
Rule #6: Let go of what doesn’t serve you
Letting go of what doesn’t serve us is one of the most important rules we can follow in life. It’s not always easy to do, but it’s necessary if we want to grow and move forward.
One way to determine what doesn’t serve us is by examining our relationships. Are there people in our lives who bring us down or make us feel bad about ourselves? Are there toxic friendships or family members who drain our energy and leave us feeling depleted?
Another area where we may need to let go is in our career. Perhaps we’re stuck in a job that no longer challenges us or brings fulfillment, yet we stay because it’s comfortable or pays well. Or maybe we’ve been holding onto an idea for a business venture that just isn’t taking off, despite all efforts.
It’s also important to consider our own behaviors and habits that don’t serve us. This could be anything from negative self-talk and limiting beliefs, to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as substance abuse or emotional eating.
Whatever it may be, letting go of what doesn’t serve us allows space for better things to come into our lives. It takes courage and determination, but the rewards are worth it – more peace of mind, increased happiness and satisfaction with life overall.
Rule #7: Trust the process
As we come to the end of this article, it’s important to remember that these rules are not set in stone. They’re meant to serve as guidelines for a fulfilling life. It’s up to you to find what works best for you and your unique circumstances.
Rule #7, Trust the process may be one of the most difficult rules to follow. Life is unpredictable and sometimes things don’t go according to plan. But by trusting that everything happens for a reason and having faith in yourself, you’ll be better equipped to handle whatever comes your way.
In summary, whether it’s through not taking yourself too seriously or letting go of what doesn’t serve you, these seven rules can help guide you towards living a more meaningful life. Remember that none of us are perfect but by striving towards embodying these values every day we can lead happier lives full of purpose and fulfillment.
